These pictures are from the church picnic that we had on Memorial Day, 2011 (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
I have so many fun memories of this day. It started out with a rousing game of...you guessed it! Duck, Duck, Goose (one of our favorites :). The circle started even smaller then this, but quickly expanded...

The parents were sitting behind the circle (in the shade), enjoying watching the game...or so they thought. But in this game, it didn't matter if you were part of the circle or not...nobody was exempt from getting tagged!

We had an absolutely beautiful (warm) day...and what a better way to cool off then a....

At times, things just didn't work out the way you had intend them to... more then one got "their" water dumped on them... Maybe you should pick on somebody your own size next time...

Oops, now that REALLY didn't work out so well...I was innocently coming back for more water, when Wilma decided I wasn't wet enough yet... oh well, it is a free for all, so why not...
Even the photographers weren't safe...ok, that was just a threat!

By the time it was over...the poor well was coming to the end of its supply! But we all had a blast, and got enough water spread all over the yard to keep it watered for awhile :)

I'm thankful for the good, long, cold, winter we had, but at the same time...I'm glad
that its over, and spring is coming...

That looks like sooooo much fun. I totally enjoyed watching too. :) Count me in for a game of duck, duck, goose or any other game. :) Sure, I'm ready to welcome summer.

DeleteAs soon as I can! I wish it were as easy as just "coming over", but it takes a bit more then that to get to Mexico, and by the way, it is your turn to visit :))
DeleteYES...cheers for Spring!!!~ Thanx for posting these! We really should do that again sometime...the whole day was a total blast!! I don't think that patch of grass by the hydrant ever recovered from all that tramping :). And remember the best part of the water battle (well, maybe not the BEST...the whole game was loads of fun :)): ganging up on Dave & giving him a huge (& very deserved) shower after he kept dumping their own water back on anyone who tried to "attack" him? :) Fun, fun...

Well, from what I've seen in the last years, the youth group has really "matured" in that way... we really have graduated (I think) from duck duck goose, and would rather play swat :) or better yet, a water battle... youth supper coming right up.... ReplyDeleteReminds me of our volleyball game in the rain! :D What fun...well, mostly...the water was beginning to get a different color, but i guess it was worth the laughter and fun! :) hey, swat sounds good, but only if I'm physically fit instead of injured...
