Singing Tour: Update #2

With only one program left in this tour.  Emotions are rather mixed.  I'm still not sure if I'm excited or sad.  I guess when it comes down to it...its like this.  I'm ready to get back to normal life (or at least as normal as our lives are), but I'm not at all tired of singing.    Here are some of the photos snapped in the last week....
"The tourists way of traveling the Mountain roads"
The first weekend we were in the mountains of North Carolina.
Beautiful mountains, warm sunshine, and the fresh green of spring, and then add in singing...and it made for an awesome weekend!    The first five programs were just us four oldest boys, and Jesse's fiancée, Margaret.  Lots of memories made... ask about the joys of making supper on a gravel mountain road!
Lots of games of Blokus were played on the less bumpy routes!

"one of the joys of traveling..."
One of the things about traveling that we hadn't really thought about much was this stop.  Of course, we were planning on doing it sometime, but just hadn't thought about how long it would take.  After spending an hour or two here we were quite ready to be on the road.  I thought it was a singing tour, not housework! :) Oh, the joys of traveling!

Leaving the church in South Boston, VA after another good evening of singing and fellowship.

A typical program on this trip has been something like this.
Arrive at the church two hours before the scheduled start time.  Unload and setup the sound system, instruments, and cd table.  Then sound check time which takes anywhere from five minutes to half an hour.   After we had that all taken care of and ready for the evening, we all headed back out to the RV to get dressed for the program.
"Our home away from home"
This part of the evening was always quite an adventure... I don't think the RV was designed for that quantity of people, suitcases, clothes, shoes etc to all be in there.  But oh the adventures we had!
Then before each program, we spent some time in prayer together.  This was always a special time...reminding us of the real reason for this trip.  It was a time of rejoicing together when we were excited about the evening, and encouraging each other when our energy levels were less then ideal.  And God came through every time!  Then the best part of the evening...actually singing, and worshiping the Lord.  And then afterwards, spending time with the people...chatting with them, and hearing their stories.  Then, when most of the people had left it was time for tear down.  Of course, thats not as fun, but still needs to be done...and of course, many hands make light work.  With everything loaded up, and locked down...we were off to where ever we were staying for the night.   So there's a  quick run down of the last week and a little.    Thanks again to each of you that have been praying for us.
Till next time ~ Jordan
